Slightly Ironic

Anyone recall the Creedence Clearwater Revival song "Fortunate Son?"
I did when I saw the new Wrangler commercial.

The song begins:

Some folks are born, made to wave the flag... Oh, their red, white and blue... The picture shows a flag poetically waving in the distance as the young ones prance and play cheerfully, then it cuts to the advertised denim blues.

For some baffling reason the Wrangler saw fit to exclude the next several bars: And when the band plays 'Hail to the chief,' oh, they point the cannon at you. It ain't me, it ain't me. I ain't no Senator's son. Vaguely reminiscent of something in the current political arena?

Anyone else find it rather odd that somehow in this huge America fest commercial business is currently reveling in that those lovely fellows at Wrangler can warp an anti-war song into a hurrah for patriotism?

sorry, spell check isn't working right now, so you must forgive my idiocy

Sunday Funday?

I seem to have embraced entirely a life of debauchery.

For any newcomers to this wonderful cycle of mindless nights and painful mornings.. let me present to you a very helpful saying, that I unfortunately could recall only this morning.

Liquer then beer, have no fear

Beer then liquer never sicker

Repeat this priceless jewel,
learn it,
cherish it.
So that through the haze of future drunken stupors it will remain ever before you. A talisman against mornings such as this one.

Also, never go to a drinking party when you have a sunburn. There's nothing more dreadful than waking up with the world spinning, your burnt flesh smarting and your stomach whirling.
I feel like a walking chunk of Christmas propaganda. Red and Green (eyes, you know) staggering back and forth with a bewildered look constantly on my face.

Oh, God, someone shoot me....

Please?
